Essential Functions: * * Assist senior engineers in developing new wheel end products * * Assist senior engineers in developing disc and drum brake systems * * Update engineering drawings and maintain them in the Teamcenter engineering database * * Provide design, drafting, and testing support to assist with new product launches * * Devise, initiate, and interpret results of engineering tests to evaluate product performance * * Assist senior engineering in competitive product evaluation * * Create Creo 3-D models for parts fit up studies * * Perform other tasks as needed by the department * * Enrolled student working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent * * Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 * * Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills * * Strong PC Skills (spreadsheets, word processing) a must, and proficiency in AutoCAD and 3-D modeling a plus * * Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete tasks with demanding time frames and minimal supervision * * Strong numerical and analytical skills * * Self-motivated with good project management, organization and planning skills * * Enjoys working "hands-on" in the test lab Physical Demands: -Frequent sitting, work at computer for extended periods of time -Periods of handling prototype parts, bending down, and lifting parts Environmental Conditions: -Office setting -Occasional work in laboratory or factory setting Behavioral Traits: * Effective oral and written skills required. * Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required. * Self-motivated and empowered self-starter. *This is not a comprehensive list of duties.
