Responsibilities
This position interacts with employees, management, service agencies, and bank regulators to provide quality service, solve problems and achieve goals. Maintain efficient and accurate processing of deposit functions including transaction processing, data entry, reconcilement, documentation, audit and compliance, information management, and related functions. Works with manager to ensure success in various departmental projects, system upgrades, and bank and branch acquisitions. Implements strategies to achieve goals developed for the department as part of the Bank's annual operating plan. Ensure the department's compliance with operating policies, procedures and outside regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works cooperatively with the Director of Deposit Operations to oversee the bank's Deposit Operations Department consisting of four supervisors and approximately 45 employees.
- Primarily responsible for staff development, staff issues, and hiring and interviews of new employees in conjunction with Director. Maintains a log of training completed.
- Provides regular support and guidance to supervisors ensuring processes are efficient, on schedule, and in compliance with regulatory requirements for all Deposit related functions including: Customer Transaction processing, ATM and Debit card settlement activities, Regulation E and daily Fraud processing, reconcilement of deposit applications (Checking, Savings, Time Deposit, IRAs), account maintenance, government reporting, year-end processing.
- Analyzes changes necessary for process improvements or problem resolution. Works with Director to implement solutions.
- Assist Director with the conversion and processing for Bank or Branch acquisitions, consolidations, and De Novo Opportunities. Work with other departments to support customer communications, and overall conversion processes.
- Communicate with outside service providers to effectively resolve issues and implement system enhancements.
- Responsible for the department Business Continuity Plan and testing of critical operations to ensure all critical functions can be completed with minimal delay.
- Provide support and assistance to internal customers by serving as a resource on all departmental function related topics and concerns.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all employees and supervisors are adhering to policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulations.
Ancillary Duties:
As an integral member of the Deposit Operations Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Bank in achieving their annual goals.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Management or supervisory experience in the banking or financial services field required.
- All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; including the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize, and delegate while delivering results; ability to supervise, guide, and develop staff; analytical, research and problem resolution skills; understanding of banking policies, procedures and government regulations; strong communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation, and active listening skills; ability to escalate issues; team oriented; adaptability to changing environments ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 to 8 years proven experience in banking, preferably in the operations area, the same in similar regulated industry, in a management or supervisory capacity.
