The Opportunity:

This is a fixed-term opportunity

The Training Specialist (Developer and Instructor) is required to conduct and support activities to analyse, design, develop and deliver training materials and solutions. Across these phases this may include discrete elements from each phase, or a combination and mix of tasks across all.

Expertise and knowledge is required across the phases of the development cycle and how training design and development flows from each step and phase to the next. Experience and confidence in training delivery is a must.

High end skills are necessary for the design of learning outcomes and development of training courseware that is focused on creating experiences for the contemporary learner, that are human-centric and leverage contemporary delivery approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the conduct of performance (training) needs analyses activities producing the appropriate data, products, and associated recommendations

  • Consult with key stakeholders and utilise subject matter experts when producing analysis and design outputs.

  • Design learning specifications, learning outcomes and curriculum for defence LMPs or enterprise learning & development strategies, in consultation with clients and/or their subcontractors or internal strategic HR stakeholders.

  • Assist with planning for, and undertake, the development of learning courseware that offers multiple delivery solutions, modes and methodologies (eLearning, instructor led, hybrid/blended learning, virtual/distance education etc.) in accordance with PM direction, the project scope of work and the customers’ requirements and intent.

  • Work alongside other training developers, the Project Manager (PM) and training staff to ensure the efficient execution of the project/ work package.

  • Produce training materials within timeframes provided, highlight risks and issues with the PM.

  • Deliver training solution to clients around Australia.

  • Maintain accurate records of project progression, utilise PM management tools such as Sharepoint and comply with information management policy and guidance.Maintain project materials, notes, records of engagement, lessons learnt, prepare handover notes and briefs to enable project continuity and when new team members are onboarded.

    As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • An approved degree, diploma, or certificate in a vocational area relevant to STS operations, current client requirements/industry area or approved equivalent tertiary qualifications,

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).

  • NV-1 or ability to obtain and hold and NV-1

Desirable:

  • Post graduate qualifications in Adult Education or relevant field.

  • A relevant project management qualification or significant experience the training project environment.
