Location: Pittsford, NY (Hybrid Position)
What does a Senior Accountant do?
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the accounting function. Coordinates work within the department, as well as with other departments. Reports pertinent information to the supervisor and responds to inquiries or requests for information. Provides guidance and on-the-job training to Accountant(s) and Accounting Specialist. Assists the supervisor with administrative tasks to support department operations.
What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?
A bachelor’s degree. Equivalent work experience and associate degree may be considered.
Three (3) years’ experience in related position.
Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office)
Analytical skills. Proficiency in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting information.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
What does a successful first year in this position look like?
Confirms controls associated with accounting function; fully understands accounting process for CNC and subsidiaries.
Maintains adequate accounting and control for various accounting functions such as cash/due from banks, investments, advances, receivables, deposits, and miscellaneous assets and liabilities.
Review and oversight of accounting for CNC and Subsidiaries.
Reviews various documents, transactions, and worksheets relating to the accounting process; makes required general ledger entries.
Calculates and prepares various statements and account summaries.
Maintains correspondent relationships; considers new opportunities for liquidity sources.
Monitors accounts, checks, entries, and transactions; reports significant discrepancies to supervisor / controller.
Prepares or reviews periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) reconcilements of balance sheet accounts.

Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $28.00-$30.00 per hour. The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
