Payroll Coordinator

Salary: $19.55 - $20.82

Position Overview:

As a Payroll Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll, including handling regular, supplemental, and manual checks, as well as managing deductions like levies, garnishments, and child support. You'll be the go-to expert for addressing payroll-related inquiries, maintaining up-to-date employee records, and ensuring compliance with timekeeping policies. You'll also collaborate closely with the finance team to support audits and help provide crucial payroll data for 401(k), workers' compensation, and year-end reporting. In addition to your payroll duties, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and support the agency's Reward & Recognition process, making this a dynamic and impactful role within our organization.

Work Location: Canandaigua, NY Schedule: M-F 8-4

Responsibilities

  • Addresses timekeeping and payroll related inquiries and issues from team members promptly and professionally while maintaining detailed and accurate documentation to support necessary corrections or adjustments.

  • Ensures accurate accounting and reporting of all payroll related data. Maintains payroll integrity through the use of data analysis and reporting. Creates and maintains spreadsheets and reconciliation reports to review payroll data for errors.

  • Audits time transactions to determine appropriateness and accuracy of time reporting and reporting codes for days and hours worked ensuring compliance with agency human resources policies .

    Requirements

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • Over (3) years of experience in accounting work, including electronic payroll preparation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Intermediate Excel skills, experience with data analytics and web-based software and computer systems.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
