Responsibilities NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: MARINE & FAMILY PROGRAM TRAINER JOB CODE: 080153 BUSINESS TITLE: MCFTB TRAINER (NAVY) SERIES: 1712 PAY LEVEL: NF-04 INTRODUCTION: This position is located within the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), Personal and Professional Development (P&PD) Branch, Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) Program. In the absence of a local Fleet and Family Support Center Program, MCCS Marine and Family Programs works closely with Navy commands to coordinate and provide installation-wide opportunities to Marines, Sailors, and families. The function of this position is two-fold: (1) Serves as a MCFTB trainer. (2) Serves as a trainer and liaison with local Navy commands in Okinawa, Japan, to include Commander, Fleet Activities Okinawa (CFAO) and tenant commands, the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, and the Expeditionary Strike Group Seven/Task Force (CTF-76). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: MCFTB TRAINER: As a member of the MCFTB staff, facilitates all MCFTB curriculum to include Readiness and Deployment Support, LifeSkills Training and Education, Lifestyle Insights Networking Knowledge and Skills (L.I.N.K.S.), Volunteer Program, and Family Readiness Program Training, as required by MCO 1754.6C. The requirement to serve as a MCFTB Trainer as business needs and the MCFTB Director dictate is an expectation of this position. Provides marketing and promotional materials for Navy programs and conducts public relations to include written publications, social media, radio, personal contacts, and videos to promote programs. Supports Navy commands through family needs assessments, application of Navy policies, and command resource support. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include weekend and evening family briefs/programs. Must be able to travel in order to support MCFTB functions. INDIVIDUAL DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT/EMERGENCY CASE MANAGEMENT: Per DoD and Navy polices, facilitates Navy Individual Augmentee, Deployment Support, and Emergency Case Management Programs on Okinawa. Delivers briefs and training to Navy personnel and families. Provides technical support and resources to Navy Command Coordinators. Supports the Navy Emergency Family Assistance Center. Documents Navy personnel and family deployment and emergency status in the Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS). OMBUDSMAN COORDINATOR/CERTIFIED OMBUDSMAN TRAINER: Facilitates the Ombudsman Program on Okinawa, Japan. Conducts training, provides resources, and ensures compliance with Navy Ombudsman directives. Supports Navy Commands and Ombudsmen through communication and program engagement required by OPNAVINST 1750.G CH2. The Incumbent will perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: BACHELOR'S DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of the position AND THREE YEARS of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to that gained in the above. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge or experience with Navy structure and support areas including, but not limited to: Individual Deployment Support, Emergency Case Management, NFAAS, and Ombudsmen/Family Readiness Programs are highly preferred. A working knowledge of the local community resources available on the various bases and off-base for Service Members and their families. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Proven ability to develop liaisons with internal and external organizations. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Secondly, must understand and follow chain of command requirements. Demonstrated skill to independently train, review, and analyze effectiveness of training. Ability to recommend, develop, implement, and facilitate effective programs, workshops, and classes for targeted audience. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekend and evening family briefs/programs while completing work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. Proven ability to exercise initiative in resolving problems, rendering decisions, carrying out revisions to plans, to analyze data, and present logical conclusions and recommendations. Experience with the Internet, Microsoft Software Suite, and Databases. Must possess a valid SOFA driver's license; travel on and off base is required. Must be physically capable to stand for prolonged periods, walk, climb stairs, perform medium lifting up to 20 pounds and bending, and set up facilities for events. Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (Tier 1) with Childcare background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
