Responsibilities NON-APPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Bowling Center Manager BUSINESS TITLE: Bowling Complex Manager (Foster) FLSA: Exempt JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-3 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the economic and efficient operation of Bowling Complex which includes bowling equipment maintenance and repair, snack bar and lounge, food concepts, gaming program and pro shop operations. Implements higher level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of recreational and promotional efforts. Promotes, schedules, and manages the conduct of tournaments, matches, and other special events and programs, and necessary resources for the purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise. Carries out necessary liaison with other staff officials that support the Bowling Complex activities, Bowling League participation, market products and events, purchase of bowling equipment and accessories, etc. May custom measure, fit, and drill bowling balls if necessary. Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs. Plans, organizes work and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and economies. Prepares financial plan, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews the financial status of the assigned activity and recommends changes considered necessary. Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, manages Food & Beverage, bar, and Bowling employees. Trains, schedules work, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Responsible for the efficient functioning of a fast casual food concept and the security of change funds, cash receipts, cash handling procedures, and MCCS property. Ensures maximum efficiency within the complex through procurement, requisitioning, receiving and storage of food, beverages, retail items and supplies. Accepts direct delivery items ensuring item counts, prices are accurate and food is received in compliance with current sanitation regulations. Oversees a culinary team to store food properly to avoid spoilage. Ensures the proper preparation, display, and price marking of food item and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures. Maintains sales records and accountable documents. Supervises and conducts periodic inventories, prepares reports, and verifies the accuracy. Responsible for the scheduling, initial training and continuing instruction, and supervision of all assigned employees. Prepares timesheets. Evaluates assigned personnel and submits performance reviews. Oversees the gaming program operations that consists of 27 gaming machines, 2 ITC (card dispensers), and 1 ACM (Automatic Cashing Machine). Supervises 8 subordinates to oversee daily operations to include cleaning/sanitizing, providing free services (coffee), and to assist customers with any gaming errors that may occur. The gaming program requires 2 staff at all times to be support jackpot payouts to the customer in a timely manner. Coordinates with the ARMP representative to complete bi-weekly slot drops (harvests) which includes: removing all money boxes from all the gaming machines, ACM and ITC card machines, counting and verifying the funds, replenishing the ACM, and depositing the sales generated from the gaming program. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Effectively supports and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud waste and abuse. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. This is a multi-faceted position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be at least 20 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; (Valid documentation will be required upon hire). 2. A minimum of three years of experience that demonstrates progressively more responsible administrative and technical work involving retail or food operation. 3. Demonstrate knowledge of bowling and F&H industry trends, policies and procedures. 4. Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and night time. 5. Must be able to obtain a current and valid SOFA driver license, travel on and off base is required. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 1. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures or commonly accepted business practices, industry trends, policies, and procedures to include budgeting, inventories, cost controls, and contract agreement. 2. Ability to supervise subordinate employees, provide work directions, and resolve problems. 3. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with subordinate staff, supervisor, and management officials as well as patrons using proper tact and diplomacy in professional manner. 4. Knowledge in operating Microsoft Programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 6. General knowledge and application of bowling events and bowling equipment is preferred. 7. Must be able to attend 18-hours Managers sanitation training and obtain certification within 90 days of employment. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
