U.S. Army Sustainment Command General Supply Specialist in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

About the Position: This position is with the 401st Army Field Support located in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. This position will be filled as Term NTE 13 months with the possibility of extensions. This position is unaccompanied in support of Operation Spartan Shield. This is an Emergency Essential position. Responsibilities Process equipment for redistribution or disposal. Ensure all property to include non-expendable is accounted for before use. Utilize Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) and Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) to accomplish administrative functions. Identify complex problem areas of the supply and property management program and recommend corrective action. Develop supply policies and procedures that reflect Department of Army regulatory and policy requirements for equipment procurement, authorization, utilization, and disposal. Serve as Property Book Officer (PBO) responsible for the administration, execution and direction of property accountability, General Services Administration (GSA) vehicle accountability, and the Command Supply Discipline Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is an unaccompanied tour in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Appointment is Term NTE 13 Months - Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended up to six (6) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a temporary or term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position. When a current Army employee applies to a JOA opened for a temporary or term appointment, the action will be a conversion to a temporary or term appointment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting physical inventory of property to ensure all property is accounted for and properly documented; 2) Utilizing an automated property book system, for example, Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A), to maintain property accountability; and 3) Analyzing supply systems and practices to recommend improvements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes Information Problem Solving Supply Planning Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-?11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Direct deposit of pay is required. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. This is a CP 13 Supply Management Career Field position The initial length of this overseas tour is 13 months. Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
