Posting Summary
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Student Academic Success, the Director of Operations is a vital Division of Student Academic Success (SAS) senior team member and collaborates with various Rutgers Camden stakeholders to lead, facilitate, and manage an innovative student success agenda. The incumbent supports the Division's overall mission, strategic plan implementation and goals, grant writing and serves as an initiator, liaison, and driver for projects and initiatives central to student success and the College's overall commitment to excellence in serving and supporting a diverse student body.
The director of operations will oversee all administrative management, project management, and supervision of the daily operations for the student academic success division. This position will organize, track, and ensures accurate and timely processing of requests and actions of all direct reports to the Vice Chancellor of SAS. The Director requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that allow the Division leadership and staff to achieve strategic goals, compliance, and execution of duties within the Division and campus as needed. This position will also be responsible for oversight in managing complex situations and a myriad of division and campus-wide programming. The director of operations will work closely with Division leadership and senior staff to strategize and develop policies, plans and systems that will allow the Division to run efficiently and effectively.
The incumbent works independently with broadly defined work objectives and limited review of overall results. Performs professional work that requires specialized knowledge and confidentiality in one or more fields of management/administration, student retention, student success strategies, event planning and management, and a solid understanding, use, and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, regulations, terminology, and applied bases in area of specialization.
This position must be able to handle complex, high-level multitasking with professionalism and efficiency. They must be able to handle highly confidential information and work professionally with faculty, staff, and students.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in (psychology, higher education leadership, public policy/public administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience plus five years of relevant experience with project management, communications, program development, and/or grant management.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through and complete tasks with minimal direction.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication (oral and written) and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage complex operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions related to customer service, finance and grants management, data management, events management, and coordination.
  • Ability to streamline or implement structures that create consistency and align with university policy, while also being flexible and nimble to find new approaches when needed.
  • Knowledge and experience with legislative processes and ability to research and understand legislative trends.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree: Experience with project management, curriculum design in higher education, and a successful track record in grant management. Supervisory experience preferred.
Equipment Utilized
MS Office, internet, computer competency in reading, developing, and evaluating spreadsheets, databases, student information systems, surveys, and other computer-based platforms, including EAB and Qualtrics. Incumbent will use social media tools to communicate with students and other constituents.
