Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Chief R&D Engineer to support a solid rocket motor manufacturer client of ours. The Sr. Chief R&D Engineer will Initiate, design, develop, execute, and implement technology research projects, investigating the feasibility of scientific principles for potential inventions and products. Plan and execute applied research, providing technical leadership for all aspects of Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) development programs to ensure 100% mission success through informed technical decision-making. Lead the design, development, and testing of SRM products, representing engineering within the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and serving as the technical interface with internal and external customers. Drive applied research to transition development into production, collaborating with manufacturing partners and utilizing CAD/CAE systems for detailed engineering drawings. Conduct market research, track projects, and execute business-oriented tasks, evolving business strategy through technology assimilation, competition evaluation, and SWOT analyses. Summarize research results, communicate findings, and develop technical documentation, employing advanced techniques and modifying theories and practices as needed.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (STEM degree preferred, but not required)

   - Over 12+ years of experience in R&D, specializing in Solid Rocket Motors.

   - Proven track record as a Chief Engineer, overseeing multiple product lines and diverse programs.

   - Extensive experience in leading Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and managing design review stage gates.

   - Skilled in product design, development, and market introduction.

   - Involvement in all phases of research, design, and development activities to create new or improved products, processes, or services.

Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability null
