Nuclear Fuel Services Shop Supervisor in Cambridge, Ontario

We are looking for a Shop Supervisor (Shift TBD) for our Cambridge, Ontario location.
JOB SUMMARY
The Shop Supervisor will lead and supervise the day-to-day activities of the shop personnel and ensure that all the company objectives are met in regards to safety, quality, productivity and cost. This position reports to the Focus Shop Manager. Shop personnel report directly to this position.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety Compliance
Hold safety meetings, perform monthly safety audits and issue work orders to maintenance for any malfunctioning or unsafe machinery.
Hold toolbox talks at the beginning of each shift to heighten awareness of safety during the work day.
Perform accident investigations with JHSC and EHS as required, ensure personal protective equipment is in place as well as train employees on the use of personal protective equipment.
Conduct safe observations through the Dupont Safety Observation Program.
Schedule Achievement
Know and try to achieve on time delivery.
Work with Schedulers to achieve daily targets.
Order any special tools required and work with design/manufacturing engineers to design fixtures and to resolve any deficiencies with components.
Perform temporary transfers of employees.
Ensure schedules are communicated to shop personnel and best efforts are conveyed to achieve, though Pre-Job Briefing.
Manage Shop Personnel
Manage shop personnel according to collective agreement and maintain a professional relationship with employees.
Manage attendance, time, and vacation of shop personnel and able to perform manual computer inputting to verify employee statuses.
Provide coaching and issue discipline, as needed.
Cost Objectives
Monitor production levels at the individual machines.
Ability to provide computer manual labour inputs with accuracy and recognition of balancing shop needs.
Develop and initiate cost improvement activities, regularly reviewing productivity reports and discussing the required expectations with employees.
Training
Ensure all employees are trained in BWXT’s procedures and support quality objectives and safety objectives.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
College Diploma (Technical, Welding Technician, Fitter, Fabricator, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 to 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience with SAP is an asset.
The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[82,000]] and $[[124,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
