Nuclear Fuel Services Machine Operator in Cambridge, Ontario

Machine Operator
Hourly rate: $35.43 – fully qualified (starts at Learner 1: $30.11/hr; Learner 2: $31.88/hr; Learner 3: $33.65)
We have an opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our production team at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations. Our tradespeople are considered the best in the industry and we are proud of the high level of technical skills they demonstrate every day.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
To machine components for the manufacture of nuclear steam generators.
TASKS:
Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools.
Program CNC machines.
Consistently maintain production of quality machine parts.
Read and interpret Work Orders, Drawings, Shop Instruction Sheet (SIS) and supporting documents.
Select appropriate tools and apply knowledge and experience of feeds and speeds.
Work in a safe manner. Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.

Knowledge and use of precision measuring equipment.
Ability to read and write CNC programming.
Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations (trigonometry, algebra).
Successfully completed advanced machining or CNC program with documented proof
3 years+ of manual machine or CNC experience
Availability to work all shifts: day shift (4x10, Monday-Thursday, 6am – 4pm); afternoon shift (4x10, Monday-Thursday, 4pm – 2am) or weekend day shift (3X11 [paid for 40 hrs], Friday-Sunday, 6am – 5pm).
