Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility is to load and unload trucks of steel between the hours of 7 am and 10 am. The work involves operating propane or electric forklifts, depending on the load size. Throughout the rest of the day, you will be responsible for picking and packing orders for the next day, including banding products to skids. Depending on shipment size, you may also be required to use an overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks of steel between 7 am and 10 am.

• Operate propane or electric forklifts for shipping/receiving tasks.

• Pick and pack orders for the next day.

• Band products to skids for shipment.

• Use an overhead crane as required by shipment size.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of forklift experience, ideally handling loads as heavy as 10,000 lbs.

• Proven ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally on your own and 100 lbs. with the help of another employee.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with overhead cranes is a plus.

Work Environment

You will be working in a new, larger building in Cambridge that houses our warehouse and production area. Our facility currently employs five people, with plans to expand. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Dress code is casual and suitable for a warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
