TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE II, Biological Engineering-Tal Group (https://talresearchgroup.mit.edu/) , to research comparative predictive diagnostics for infection-associated chronic illnesses (viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens) through deep immunoinflammatory profiling. Will investigate antibody levels and ratiometric scores against key pathogen classes that may drive symptoms after infection; optimize flow-based immunoprofiling (FLIP) analysis for different pathogen targets and analyze antibody results; optimize, execute, and analyze/interpret high-resolution flow cytometry assays; perform Luminex antibody assays and analyze/interpret data; and culture Borrelia burgdorferi and execute in vitro experiments as needed. There will be occasional biobanking of clinical study participant samples and assisting with clinical study participant visits.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: B.S./B.A. in biology or a related discipline; at least four years of relevant laboratory experience; experience with flow cytometry; excellent organizational, planning, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to follow complex instructions, multitask, carefully document work in written records, and work both independently and as part of a team.; self-motivation; attention to detail; and proficiency with Prism, flow cytometry software such as FlowJo, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PREFERRED: M.S. in biology, or a related discipline. Experience with in vivo animal (ideally murine) handling, husbandry, and experiments. Experience with cell culture & biosafety cabinet sterile technique. Experience with automated liquid handlers.
