About the role:

Join Takeda as the Associate Director, Diagnosis Strategy (Sleep Disorders) where you will be responsible to analyze the pre-diagnosis patient journey, identify key levers and work on prioritized initiatives to improve Narcolepsy Type 1 diagnosis rate to prepare for a best-in-class launch. The ideal candidate will thrive on challenge and will be a highly collaborative, analytical problem solver and exhibit strategic and innovative agility. The Associate Director, Diagnosis Strategy will leverage data and insights to inform the decision-making, ensuring that our diagnosis strategy is rooted in a deep understanding the market dynamics. As part of the Sleep Disorders Brand Team, you will accomplish this through collaboration and strategic discussion with the end goal always being to win for patients.

How you will contribute:

  • Act as day-to-day lead for US efforts to improve diagnosis of Narcolepsy Type 1

  • Help develop, maintain and implement a 3-5 year diagnosis strategy plan for the US that ensures all diagnosis initiatives deliver maximum value and are closely aligned to and help deliver the business strategy

  • Act as US lead in all global diagnosis initiatives, helping to connect the dots across the organization and make recommendations on most appropriate next steps for the US

  • Responsible for overseeing and sharing progress on milestones and execution of diagnosis initiatives by multiple cross-functional teams across global and US

  • Evaluate and make recommendations for decisions on technologies and vendors as needed to support diagnostic and program deliverables

  • Close collaboration with key cross-functional stakeholders, including marketing team, patient diagnosis center of excellence, insights and advanced analytics, medical, marketing, market access, HEOR, patient services, field, regulatory, ethics and compliance, and legal

  • Partner with team using advanced analytical approaches (including AI tools, machine learning) to enable patient diagnosis via partnership with prioritized data sources

  • Oversee project management in close partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring that initiatives are effectively governed and delivered

  • Represent the brand team as diagnosis champion when engaging with external stakeholders (technology partner, patient organizations, healthcare systems, HCPs, etc.) to accelerate innovative diagnosis solutions

  • Continuously monitor progress through KPIs that convey the goals, scope, and risks of patient diagnosis; deliver regular leadership updates

  • Proactively recognize industry/competitive trends to identify opportunities

  • Manage multiple agencies from strategic brief through to delivery, holding them accountable to Takeda USBU policies, standards, timelines and budgets.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of professional experience including pharmaceuticals, medical device, biotech or healthcare consulting

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across multiple functions such as global marketing

  • Ability to innovate and gain buy-in from internal colleagues and external partners

  • Ability to make sound business decisions by having a strong understanding of business, finance and risks/benefits of those decisions

  • Ability to enable teamwork and positively influence colleagues and team members toward common goals

  • Ability to manage external partners

  • Ability to manage complexity, including the management of work across competing priorities

Preferred:

  • MBA or MSc/PhD

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and how to effectively engage with a rare patient population and drive diagnosis

  • Experience partnering with analytics & insights team to prioritize key business questions and identify key market drivers

  • Experience working on initiatives to drive diagnosis in Rare Diseases or rare disease patient journey mapping

  • Experience partnering with medical teams, market access and/or R&D

  • Experience working with marketing teams, marketing insights or strategy

  • Experience in Sleep Disorders, Neurology, Pulmonology or Rare therapeutic areas

U.S. Base Salary Range:

149,100.00 - 234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
