PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The purpose of the Water Technician role is to support all aspects of service delivery of the defined contract. This will include conducting, monitoring and documenting the control measure tasks as detailed within the legionella risk assessment, for the campus’s domestic water systems and cooling towers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting and recording all relevant control measure tasks as deemed by the legionella risk assessment (TMV maintenance, flushing, temperatures, monitoring checks, sampling etc.).

  • Liaising closely with 3rd party water specialists to ensure service delivery and compliance of all the site’s domestic water systems and cooling towers.

  • Accountable for ensuring high standards of documentation for all aspects of water management.

  • Supporting the site’s operations team in all aspects of operations and maintenance as required.

  • To ensure logbooks are always up to date and audit ready. Reporting compliance status regularly to the Lead Water Technician and/or Technical & Compliance Manager.

  • To conduct any monitoring or maintenance tasks associated with reverse osmosis plant and other lab water systems (purified water).

  • To attend training and actively engage with development.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Technical training qualifications in water. (L8 awareness, cooling towers).

  • Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).

  • Strong understanding of all main building services M&E plant.

  • Strong computer literacy skills (excel, word, powerpoint, etc).

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in domestic water systems and associated control measure tasks.

  • Strong knowledge of cooling towers and associated control measure tasks.

  • Extensive understanding of ACOP L8 and HSG274 (parts 1, 2 & 3).

  • Strong awareness of COSHH.

  • Working knowledge of operating BMS.

Desirable:

  • Experienced in working within critical environments (preferably pharma).

  • Experienced in cooling tower water testing.

  • Experience in servicing TMV’s.

  • Experience with reverse osmosis plant

  • Experience with lab water systems (purified water)
