Job Title: Lead Controls Engineer - CAMBRIDGE CITY, IN
Job Description
The Controls Engineer will be hands-on and also take on a management role. This position involves working directly with the Engineering Manager and managing a team of 4 Control Technicians and maintenance technicians.
Responsibilities
Direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Controls Department, including scheduling adequate personnel and employee work orders.
Coordinate with Plant Management and the Maintenance Department to establish maintenance schedules for different electrical components of the facility to minimize downtime on production.
Provide feedback to Plant Management regarding the status of various projects, work orders, and manufacturing procedures as needed.
Diagnose electric motor failure.
Use digital multi-meters and electrical prints.
Troubleshoot and diagnose control circuitry.
Drive and participate in improvement projects.
Install, program, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical devices and equipment, instrumentation, and related controls hardware.
Review, modify, and create CAD drawings and any other controls-related documentation.
Essential Skills
5+ years of PLC programming experience utilizing Rockwell and/or Siemens controllers.
Project management experience.
Experience with controls, manufacturing, and SCADA MES systems, as well as setting up systems that communicate via OPC.
Experience implementing shop floor automation, manufacturing execution systems, and shop floor networks.
Comprehensive programming experience including HMI, RFID, and PanelView.
Networking experience with Ethernet, DeviceNET, and Remote I/O devices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Food and Beverage industry experience.
Machine building experience.
ARC Flash Certification.
Work Environment
Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required. The environment is clean and climate-controlled, with new machinery. This position follows a consistent Monday - Friday schedule with minimal overtime and no travel. The role offers 40 hours of PTO and 6 paid holidays while on consulting with Actalent, and 160hrs of PTO when hired on after the consulting period. The company is very stable, operating in an industry that remains in high demand regardless of economic conditions. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and adheres to strict quality control measures.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.08 - $70.00/hr.
