Process Engineering Lead

TWD is currently seeking a Process Engineering Lead, to work out of our Calgary or Edmontona, AB Office.
The role includes:
Hands-on, day-to-day management of engineering design activities,
Management and administration of the Process Engineering team for planning, reporting and team development to maintain key KPIs, meet business targets and growth objectives,
Leadership of the Process Engineering team for mentoring and skills development.
Participation in Business Development activities and TWD ‘Seller-Doer’ culture to grow the Process Engineering team and overall TWD business.
Job Responsibilities
Perform, and check calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual techniques.
Lead the development of process deliverables which includes (but not limited to): development of PFDs, P&IDs, line designation tables, data sheets and completing equipment sizing calculations, control philosophy, heat and material balance, operating procedures, risk assessments etc.
Lead development of process design for conceptual and feasibility studies, front-end process design and detailed engineering of capital projects.
Provide technical support and expertise to contribute to the improvement of Client operations, maintenance, process safety and reliability programs.
Facilitation of PHA reviews.
Organize and plan process work with respect scope, resources, budget and schedule.
BD activities including presentations to clients, development of proposals and provision of process engineering estimates for proposals.
Assist in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Professional Engineering Certification (P.Eng) is required
10 to 15 years of experience in process engineering design in an EPC environment, preferably serving the industrial and petrochemical industry.
Detailed understanding of sound engineering principles and procedures and ensure that technical, quality and established performance standards are applied and met for design work and resolution of Client operational issues.
Strong experiences and knowledge with process simulations and associated tools (e.g., ASPEN HYSYS, AFT Fathom, etc.) . Dynamic simulation and surge analysis experience using SPS, AFT Impulse, HYSYS dynamics, etc.) would be an asset
Knowledge of industry codes and standards including TSSA, ABSA, API, ASME, NFPA, etc.
Must possess leadership and coaching skills in the development, training and mentoring of team members.
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Aptitude for Seller-Doer activities including building and maintaining client relationships, scoping new work, and resolving concerns.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently when required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Operational experience would be an asset.
