PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As the Specialist Regional Inventory Control, you will provide oversight and management of inventory on a regional basis (AB&BC). You are responsible to ensure physical inventory accuracy through inventory cycle counts, accurate project reconciliations and keeping the system inventory storage location up to date. This position will be accountable for developing and managing KPIs and scorecard with meaningful measures of success and accountable for stakeholder management and service delivery.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist in operation of the distribution center
Ensure availability of right material at the right time for projects, maintenance and production
Ensure physical inventory accuracy through physical inventory counts and timely project material reconciliations
Keep system inventory updated through timely postings of entries and documents
Manage inventory levels at the storage locations to ensure higher inventory turns and avoid surplus inventory or obsolescence
Coordinate with Inventory Analyst and Engineering Services field personnel to recommend and maintain safety stocks at storage locations
Conduct annual inventory audits to meet SOX Compliance requirements
Monitor Capital Inventory and ensure timely charge out
Release and move material to projects to ensure accurate inventory levels
Coordinate material moves with Distribution Centers
Assist Managers and Roadmasters with ordering material
Extend material to Plants to be available to order
Provide SAP expertise and training to field personnel, as required
Trace material orders to ensure timely receipts
Process material releases for scrap invoicing
Monitor and report Track Panel production orders and inventory levels
Create and issue STO’s to move material, when required
Assist with material movements and charge outs from Plant to Plant for derailments and emergent situations
Assist in developing inventory policy and administer this policy in the field
Provide backup coverage for other team members, as required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Min. 3+ years’ experience of managing inventory, warehousing, and distribution of materials
Expertise with Windows and Microsoft Office
Intermediate to advanced capabilities with Excel (pivot tables, Power Pivot, etc.)
Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge
High School Diploma
Sound understanding of the Railroad maintenance and projects related processes would be considered an asset
Good project management and presentation skills
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
Must possess a valid driver license
