Your Key Responsibilities:

The role of a Senior BIM Manager is to work as the team lead for BIM on major projects, overseeing, coordinating and responsible for work of BIM Managers, Leads and Technicians across multiple disciplines. The Senior BIM Manager will be able to evaluate, select, and direct BIM environments to deliver a project. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Acts as liaison for BIM related subject matter both internally and externally.

  • Develops interdisciplinary standards and process improvements related to BIM project delivery.

  • Provides direction and assists project teams with project setup and delivery.

  • Works with project managers and technical design staff to prepare drawing documentation.

  • Reviews projects for adherence to firm and project standards

  • Evaluates and recommends BIM related software

  • Creates end user training and support materials

  • Leads the set-up, maintenance, and development of our project models

  • Develops families and other electronic template materials following corporate guidelines for our multidisciplinary studios

  • Oversees and leads in the development of BIM Execution Plans for projects

  • Ensures the adherence of project models to the requirements of the BIM Execution Plan

  • Communicates corporate initiatives and standards to studio

  • Provides in-house BIM support including:

    • Creates electronic data files in compliance with Stantec and client requirements.
    • Converts markups to document-ready work.
    • Publishes, posts, and manages drawing sets.
    • Maintains drawing revisions.
    • Assists other staff with Revit issues and mentors design staff in Design Technology systems use
    • Adds insight and makes recommendations to add efficiencies and value to BIM production.
  • Increases technical and project knowledge by proactively identifying and participating in training opportunities.

  • Attends in-house project meetings and external meetings.

  • Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support studio and firm-wide goals.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Strong working knowledge of recent versions of Revit; and how they are applied within the built environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Building Information Modeling.

  • Certifications relevant to the position.

  • Revit family creation and maintenance.

  • Skilled at clash detection in Revit. Clash / BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, detection skills with Navisworks is preferred.

  • Client-centric, can-do approach to project work and assignments.

  • Familiarity with methods of design to support the architectural/engineering field.

  • High level of initiative, with ability to synthesize new technologies, industry trends, and client needs to make recommendations and initiative changes that add efficiency and value.

  • Ability to multi-task and synthesize multiple data points and instructions to timely produce accurate deliverables.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Certificate from technical college. Advanced degree in related field preferred.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with Revit, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience on projects in excess of 750,000 square feet preferred

  • Related experience in the architectural/engineering/contractor industry.

  • Familiarity with architectural or engineering design within the built environment is preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare and industrial market sectors preferred.

  • Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit required, Navisworks, Rhino, dRofus preferred)

  • Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite)

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • Lower Mainland $83,100/BC Other Areas $78,400 - Lower Mainland $124,700/BC Other Areas $117,600 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
