What You Would Do in This Role

The ETL Applications Specialist is responsible for the extraction, transformation, and loading of documents and data between applications. Duties include:

• stablishing new system integrations as well as maintenance and support for existing implementations

• Performing enhancements to existing systems with a focus on .NET development

• Maintaining and monitoring complex ETL activities

• Automating manual tasks

• Authoring XML configurations to prepare data sources for publishing

• Maintaining servers and databases for ongoing projects

• Customizing reports as per project requirements

• Performing continuous improvement and development of Vista’s AVEVA NET / AIM build

• Ensuring data integrity across the platform

• Troubleshooting and solving application challenges

• Producing workflows and procedures

• Developing detailed project work instructions for users

• Training the project team on using applications

• Keeping abreast of technological and software developments affecting the application

• Preliminary liaising with the IT, Engineering, Design, and Project Management teams to ensure a fit-for-purpose implementation that meets all stakeholders needs

• Leveraging APIs on desktop and cloud-based systems to facilitate automation and data transfer

• Liaising with internal project teams and clients as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field (Management Information Systems, Engineering, Design and Drafting, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent experience

• Strong working experience in Visual Studio, including .NET programming in Visual Basic or C#

• Strong working experience in MS SQL Databases including basic administration and security tasks

• Experience with Oracle and other databases

• Knowledge of relational database management

• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Reporting Services (SSRS)

• Understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and reporting architecture

• Experience configuring and maintaining Windows 2016+ Servers and IIS

• Team player with a positive attitude and always willing to accept new challenges

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

• Previous experience with AVEVA toolset(s) including AVEVA NET / AIM development and administration experience

• Experience with web languages (HTML 5/CSS, JavaScript) and scripting (PowerShell, command line interface, Python)

• Experience in data visualization and analysis (e.g., PowerBI or similar tools)

• Processing JSON and XML files supplied by cloud-based services

• Experience developing and implementing new applications

• Knowledge of engineering data

• Less than 14 years of combined education and experience

• Able to complete most duties with limited support from Senior or Lead team member

• Provide training and support to less experienced team members
