Lineage Logistics Carrier Relations Manager in Calgary, Alberta
The Carrier Relations Manager will manage and maintain relationships with Third Party Carriers and owner operators for Lineage Canada. Support daily operations of the centralized Transportation Management Office, Logistics Services Group and work with established carrier and owner operator base to procure rates and capacity for our transportation network.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads and promotes a culture where Safety is the #1 priority.
Manage carrier request for proposals (RFP) and analyze the results - evaluate service and cost targets, new business opportunities, and support network changes.
Monitor carrier and owner operator performance through scorecards.
Carrier vetting for possible onboarding, including contract administration, insurance compliance, and carrier safety rating monitoring support.
Work with operations to secure commitments to selected carriers across the network.
Support pricing for new business opportunities and network analysis.
Fulfill ad-hoc request for proposals (RFP) to support operations, new business, and volume fluctuations.
Serve as the dedicated fleet analysis/design resource.
Source, recruit, screen, and interview (phone and in-person) experienced owner operator candidates via cold calling, e-mail, company career center and job boards.
Manage our full cycle recruitment process for owner operators constantly maintain a pool of prospective candidates.
Professionally represents the organization at trade shows, job fairs, open houses, conferences, and meetings.
Strong focus on a multitude of pipeline strategies including referral programs, community partnerships, job fairs, school partnerships, diversity groups, unemployment offices, and local government programs.
Cultivate and sustain a positive culture, quality performance, safe environment, and a positive, professional owner operator candidate experience.
Be knowledgeable of the local labor market, processes and policies which relate to owner operators and drivers.
Assist qualified candidates in completing their employment applications, and ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted by the candidate.
Collaborate with the Compliance Department to ensure all required new hire documentation is obtained.
Schedules road tests, Pre-Employment Drug screening tests, process background checks and applicable training/orientation programs
Coordinate periodic owner operator and driver meetings to address operations, safety and compliance issues.
Working with compliance team in truck licensing and registration activities.
Review key cost, pay and performance reports with owner operators.
Liase with multiple internal and external stakeholders to improve the carrier, owner operator and driver experience with Lineage.
Complete market assessments on owner operator and driver compensation to keep the organization current and competitive in the marketplace.
Maintain up to date, driver recruitment cost metrics, KPIs, Applicant tracking system.
KEY REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
Post-secondary completion in Business, Logistics and Supply Chain or a related field.
4-5 years in the Transportation sector with solid understanding of the Transportation and Logistics Industry.
Experience using an applicant tracking system preferably TMW, Workday/Dayforce etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication, record-keeping, and follow-up skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
Willing to work under tight deadlines and maintain exceptional judgment and discretion regarding sensitive matters.
Work with the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality
Previous experience in driver training, recruitment and safety & compliance is an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
