    About the Job

    The Maintenance Planner will optimize maintenance performance by continually striving to reduce downtime through proactive planning. They will also assist with the development of reliability-based maintenance strategy which is based on preventative, predictive, and condition monitoring maintenance and assisting storeroom personnel in determining critical spares and part stocking levels. In addition to this, they will order parts and equipment as required.

  • Planning and coordinating maintenance jobs and projects. Arranges for contractors and vendors to assist as needed.

  • Write requisitions for purchases and contract labor

  • Develop and actively support preventative maintenance programs for all stationary and mobile plant equipment

  • Review all new work order requests in EAM and assign correct work order status, enter all completed work orders, employee time, and parts used into the site’s asset management program

  • Work with Purchasing to establish proper stocking levels and reorder points for material. Establish a bill of materials for all new equipment. Ensure all parts are kitted and staged with all necessary prints.

  • Work with engineering personnel to establish new equipment numbers and record equipment specifications. Review equipment spare part requirements.

  • Lead daily planning meeting with Production and Maintenance to ensure the planned jobs scheduled are being executed.

  • Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.

    Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School degree required, post-secondary education or technical degree a plus.

  • Experience: One to two years’ experience in Maintenance Planning required; three to five years experience in Planning experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of computer operation with the ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, EAM/CMMS and MLC software applications.

  • Skills: Strong background in maintenance with the ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.

  • Abilities: The physical ability to work in extreme heat and cold, navigate steps and ladders at high elevations.

  • Behaviors: Independently solve problems, direct and train others, and the ability to direct one’s own work without supervision.
