Title: Maintenance Supervisor

*SUMMARY:  *The purpose of this position is to lead, direct and plan using maintenance strategies and maintenance programs to maintain the facility to achieve maximum efficiencies with minimum unscheduled downtime. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company. 

 

PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.

12-hour rotating shift which includes weekends and potential holidays 

 

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *

  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.

  • Lead maintenance staff in all areas of personnel safety with regards to all OSHA and NFPA regulations.

``` - Collaborate Maintenance Manager on personnel performance and department strategic direction. - Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Keep inventory on supplies and equipment needed to maintain many departments. - Drive planning and predictive maintenance of plant equipment using maintenance software.

``` - Act with urgency in maintaining plant uptime.

``` - Improve plant systems through the use of automation, electronics and other new technologies. - Communicate with plant operations to coordinate PM's and maintenance repair. - Meet budgetary guidelines, reduce cost and enhance inventory systems. - Input and analyze data into maintenance software to track department work. - Track on time PM completion rates and develop PM's according to runtime verses calendar. - Supervise maintenance PM's, planning, project management and emergency break downs - Train and evaluate through continuous improvement and training to maintain a productive and competent maintenance workforce. - Other duties may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support and develop maintenance personnel, particularly personnel on 7AM-7PM schedule.

 

*QUALIFICATIONS:   *

*The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job. *

  • A minimum of an Associate Degree or 10 years of technical plant experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to use troubleshooting tools to include multi-meter and current meter.
  • Basic electrical skills, troubleshooting basic motor control circuits and understanding electrical safety preferred.
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to listen well, and work in a team environment.
