Summary
Simplot internships are designed to provide meaningful work experiences for students pursuing bachelor and master’s degree programs. All our internships are paid positions that are offered for a designated period. Each posting is unique with the duration and time commitment varied. Interns are assigned specific tasks to accomplish and are expected to participate in a variety of projects based on the business group. With these projects, interns can apply the skills and knowledge they are acquiring in school. There are many benefits of pursuing an internship with the J.R. Simplot Company. Key Responsibilities
Work with a Process Development Engineer or Scientist to design experiments. These experiments will provide data to help the team understand a particular optimization or scale up problem.
Collect, analyze, and organize data.
Present and discuss results to the broader Process Development Team.
Rework and repeat the experimental design, data collection, analysis, etc. if necessary.
Present the project objective and key learnings to the Simplot Technical Center staff at the end of the internship.
Typical Education
Must be enrolled in a college/university majoring inchemical engineering, industrial engineering, food engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, biological systems engineering or closely related majors to the job description
Must be a Sophomore or above.
Basic knowledge of fundamental science / engineering principles and materials.
Relevant Experience
Engineering courses
Strong work ethic
Self-starter
Can work with minimal supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills
Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Other Information
Limited travel
40 hours/week, compensation based on year in school and academic years completed
This is a 12-week internship based in Caldwell, ID
