Fresenius Medical Care North America Senior Director Supply Chain Operations APAC in Buzen City, Japan

Manufacturing & Supply Chain (MSC) is a business unit within Care Enablement at Fresenius Medical Care. Through our global network of 39 manufacturing sites and 23 distribution centers our teams in MSC manage the production, distribution, and supply of renal and multi-organ therapy products. In about 150 countries, patients and customers depend on us to manufacture and deliver a full range of products used in renal treatments as well as heart and lung therapies.

In your role as Director Supply Chain Operations APAC you will be responsible to drive , direct, design and improve the SC Organization in the APAC region. In this position you will manage 4 cluster leads who manage operational supply chain teams in 22 countries in the APAC region.

Tasks

Strategic Vision & Operational Execution

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support the overall business objectives of our affiliates in AP.

  • Manage and oversee our 3PL vendors to ensure they meet our performance expectations and contractual obligations to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

  • Optimize transportation and distribution networks to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods.

  • Manage the logistic budgets to establish cost transparency and baseline for financial improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to supply chain and distribution operations.

  • Design & deploy new processes, standards, and operational plans for the Supply Chain Management function.

  • Lead the supply chain function by developing and communicating a clear vision across functional teams and stakeholders to drive successful business processes and growth.

Leadership

  • Responsible for the performance and results of each diverse team within the supply chain function.

  • Provide strong leadership to enable the team to increase distribution capacities while reducing costs and improve service via of collaboration, innovative thinking and creative problem-solving.

  • Lead and manage all aspects of transportation, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Represent the organization at key Senior Leadership interactions with cross functional teams on behalf of the Supply Chain function.

  • Responsible for the achievement of key business metrics; performance to financial budget/forecast, cash flow improvement (inventory), On-Time-In-Full distribution and warehouse measures of effectiveness.

  • Evaluate and implement new supply chain capabilities and tools.

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

  • Develop and manage supply chain performance metrics to monitor and improve performance.

  • Focus on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of AP`s supply chain operations.

  • Assess the current and future supply chain landscape and business functionality to develop keen insights to identify areas for improvement.

Profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in an economical or technical field with a specialization in Logistics or Supply Management.

  • MBA or equivalent degree highly desired.

  • You bring experience as a regional APAC supply chain leader in a corporate multinational organization in the healthcare industry.

  • Experienced Leader (+ 5 years) of high-skilled and diverse teams located in multiple countries in the APAC region.

  • Proven track record in Supply chain transformation in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.

  • Experience in working with cross functional teams in multinational corporations with a matrix structure and different maturity levels.

  • Effective communication skills across all levels within the organization from Board level to shop floor.

  • CPSM, PMP, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma certifications are an advantage.

  • Solid understanding of End-to-End Supply Chain Management with deep knowledge in logistics operations.

  • Analytical mindset with high problem-solving capability.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • SAP knowledge in the ERP modules SD & MM.

  • Knowledge in different Warehouse Management software.

  • High language proficiency in English plus a local language (spoken & written).
