Job Title: Shop Supervisor

Reports To: Service Manager
Supervises: Service Technicians, Interns (Apprentice)
Job Function:
Assigns and provides work direction to employees in the Service Department, advises and recommends changes and improvements regarding Service Department processes to the Service Manager, and assists in the processing of repair and warranty work. May act as Service Manager in Service Managers absence.
Essential Duties:
Assigns jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and knowledge.
Reviews all repair work orders for accuracy and completeness in concerning parts, materials and labor and approves the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.
Directs and assist in the diagnosis of machine problems of technicians and apprentices and provides instruction as required.
Works with the Service Manager in all aspects of the Service Department in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Service Manager (may fill the Service Managers role in their absence).
Promotes customer loyalty and goodwill and protects dealerships image.
Assists in the appraisal of repair work coming into the Service Department and may participate in repairs.
Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints.
Reviews department performance and personnel matters with Service Manager on a regular basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions. Familiar with John Deere and Competitive products. High School Diploma or GED equivalent Previous supervisory or management experience preferred but not required. Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence.
