Advance Distribution Management System Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year accredited college in associated discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical (M.E.T.) or Civil (C.E.T.) Engineering Technology or Business and Information Technology (B.I.T.); an equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be considered
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong knowledge of SCADA systems, protocols and operational technology
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-starter who pursues self-education and is customer focused
- Technical experience and skills including experience with common programming languages and knowledge and experience with common databases
- Ability to work required hours as needed which may include evenings and weekends
- Ability to work on-call rotations as defined
- Ability to do some travel including day trips and overnight will be required, depending on work location and experience, up to 15% of time
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
- Experience with network infrastructure and firewall configuration is desirable
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (NERC CIP) is desirable
- Certifications such as CISSP, GICSP are a plus
- Experience in editing geodatabases within a multiuser GIS (enterprise-level) environment; and/or GIS data maintenance and geoprocessing is desirable
- Experience and knowledge of Electric and Gas Utility operations a definite plus
- Strong aptitude to understand current technology trends in software, cloud, cybersecurity and automation to apply them to NorthWestern Energy's business processing needs is preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Administer and maintain SCADA systems, including hardware, software and network infrastructure
- Develop and implement IT controls and security measures to protect critical infrastructure and data to include adhering to NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) procedures and policies as required
- Monitor and manage real-time data, alarms and events through various SCADA systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, mitigate risk, conduct cybersecurity strategies and resolve issues on critical operational infrastructure
- Conduct routine system backups, updates, and maintenance to ensure operational reliability
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in SCADA and IT controls
- Maintain and ensure integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information
- Undertake complex projects involving multiple disciplines that may impact multiple business units
- Build and develop positive user, team and leadership relationships to facilitate Business Technology business partnerships
- Develop, install and maintain application systems to ensure timely access to accurate, real-time data
- Provide daily maintenance and technical support activities associated with the operation of Operational Technology applications development and configuration
- Work with vendors and colleagues to research, plan, test, and implement patches, releases, and upgrades
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting and perform corrective actions to ensure a high degree of systems availability, reliability and security
- Install and configure complex software systems following established procedures and change control standards
- Interact with stakeholders to identify problems, needs, and opportunities for improvement
- Lead development and delivery of solutions including testing and engaging with users
- Troubleshoot production problems
- Analyze and query complex data models
- Participate in creating and maintaining process, training, technical documentation and standards and procedures related to the operatio s and maintenance of supported systems and applications
- Effectively and efficiently organize, plan, execute and coordinate multiple work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates
- Utilize established project management documents such as scope, assumptions and risks
- Adhere to the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Adhere to company safety, physical security and cyber security standards
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission and strategic business objectives

Full-time position.
$54,000 - $121,800 annually, depending on experience.
