Senior Financial Accountant

Job Description: We are seeking a candidate for a Senior Financial Accountant role. This person will play a key role in financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and analysis. This position will develop and support project accounting processes and reporting. The selected individual will be a highly motivated, results-oriented professional who is an innovative thinker. The applicant must have strong analytical, problem resolution, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and monitor reimbursements of federally funded construction projects.

  • Develop project-related operational and management reporting and associated analysis.

  • Communicate and present project results to management and the executive team.

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Assist in the coordination of the month-end close process.

  • Review accounting records and transactions for accuracy, adequacy of supporting documentation, and compliance with company policy.

  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Participate in the timely preparation, review, and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including, but not limited to, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, local management reports, cost allocation reports, and capital expenditures reporting.

  • Develop and prepare relevant, meaningful, and comprehensive management reports which provide comparisons to budget and historical trends.

  • Actively support the annual financial audit process.

  • Proactively identify areas for potential improvement in the Finance & Accounting Department.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • CPA or MBA preferred, but not required.

  • 5+ Years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and innovative approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong technical, data, and reporting skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
