Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical Project Coordinator/Assistant to the Project Managers to join our team in the Burnaby, BC office. In this role, you will have the chance to assist with a variety of projects and collaborate with industry-leading professionals. Your Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development of project management documents including budgets, project schedules, project execution plans, and project quality plans
Support subcontractor management process, including subcontractor HSSE prequalification, developing/populating subcontractor agreements and subcontractor variances, as required
Prepare pre-field documentation submittals, including training/certification packages, work procedures, and hazard assessments, as well as supporting the development of project specific safety plans and emergency response plans
Assist in the logistical coordination of field works, including directing subcontractors, and Stantec field crews while maintaining clear lines of communication amongst the project teams
Review subcontractor Labour, Equipment and Materials (LEM’s), preparing Stantec LEM’s, tracking field costs and presenting trend logs
Develop/review project updates, project invoices, project change notices, and estimates to complete
Track/report select project metrics in accordance with client requirements (i.e., monthly HSSE stats, monthly Indigenous spend, etc.)
Assist with document control, including formatting/compiling documents, and managing document numbers for submittals
Participate in project close-out tasks including preparing QR/IR forms for project deliverables, and client satisfaction surveys
Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment Program
Technical writing and report preparation as needed
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge of the consulting industry and willingness to support projects while collaborating across the company
Strong leadership and communication skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with project teams
Proactive personality with the capability to make decisions and effectively solve problems
Proven organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and social skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of audiences, including internal and external clients as well as regulatory agencies
Desire to learn the geotechnical business and contribute to the success of a team
Willingness to travel for project work, as required
Education and Experience
Technical degree/diploma/certificate in civil engineering or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Experience with oil and gas projects is considered an asset.
Typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining relatively sedentary. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather and rough terrain, and requirements to lift items and equipment up to 50 lbs. Stantec offers a flexible work arrangement for desk-based tasks, combining home-based and office-based time.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s):
- Lower Mainland $70,200 - Lower Mainland $101,900 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
