Your Opportunity
Morrison Hershfield, now Stantec's Buildings group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost-effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions. The combined skills of our engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.
Your Key Responsibilities
Act as a structural designer for small and medium-sized projects, with the intent to develop skills towards a future discipline lead role for larger projects
Coordinate work with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical and electrical
Select appropriate methods and techniques to obtain design solutions
Perform detailed structural design calculations
Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to client
Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, post-construction review, and structural condition assessments
Prepare written reports based on the structural analysis of existing buildings and other structures
Work within assigned project budgets and schedules
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience and interest in buildings projects are required
Design in concrete, steel, wood and masonry; and performing building condition assessments an asset
Familiarity with Revit Structure and FEA software(s) is an asset
An interest in developing design skills on small structural design assignments and working within a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting team
Strong written and oral communication
Familiarity with Revit and CAD to complete drawing development and edits
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university
Minimum 2 years of experience in design

Salary Range(s):
- Lower Mainland $65,300 - Lower Mainland $91,400 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
