Student Success Advisor
Essential functions include advancing student recruitment and retention strategies in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) as part of the Deans Office Student Services team. Commit to inclusive excellence, equity, and student success. Serve as professional advisor for first-year and sophomore students inCALSacross all majors. Support initiatives for increasing retention through academic preparation, training, and building social connections for first-year, sophomores, transfer students, international students,BIPOCstudents, first-generation students, and others. Work with student services team to coordinate recruitment and retention events for students including admitted student visit days, academic information sessions, orientations, ExploreCALSworkshop and teaching and advising workshops. Work with departments to coordinate best practices for advising, and mentoring students across all majors. Assist with advisor assignments, degree audits, transfer inquiries and other policy transactions and student interactions. Assist with report generation and presentations using data management systems, Excel, and PowerPoint. Work with the student services team to develop and implement retention strategies and develop new events and student opportunities. Support marketing and communication efforts for the recruitment and retention of primarily undergraduate students. Bachelors degree in a specialized or related field and one to three years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Current working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
