Posting Summary
Perform a wide variety of skilled plumbing functions to include the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of plumbing equipment and systems. Access information utilizing computers. Promote a workplace that encourages safety within the Shop and field. Operate a university vehicle to transport materials, tools, and equipment. May be required to use an aerial lift. Report to a Supervisor and actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer service.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High school diploma, Vermont Journey Plumbing license and one year experience with license in construction plumbing/heating system installation and maintenance plumbing required. Backflow Prevention Device Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within one year required. Vermont Natural Gas Installer Certification or ability to obtain within six months required. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check and physical screening.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $25 to $35/hour
Other Information
This position may be hired at either the Journey or Master Plumber level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate
Special Conditions Bargaining Unit Position - United Electrical Workers, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, 40 hour work week, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period

Union Position Yes, UE ($18.25 minimum hourly rate)
