Posting Summary
Coordinate and oversee the daily operation of the Fleming Museum of Art to include visitor services functions. Recruits, hires, train and supervise students employed as gallery attendants and front-desk staff. Oversee the safety of artwork on display and a safe environment for visitors and staff. Plan, schedule and manage logistics for programs and events held in Museum and other campus spaces and ensure appropriate staffing and oversight. Provide administrative office support, and support operational activities of the Museum including work-study scheduling and payroll, opening and closing the Museum galleries, and serve as the liaison to university support services such as custodial, parking and transportation, and event services. Reports to the Director.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate’s degree and one to three years related experience required. Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency with software applications used to support office functions required. Requires high level of customer service and experience in public/customer facing role.
Desirable Qualifications
Supervisory experience desired. Interest and acumen for working with and mentoring student employees.
Anticipated Pay Range $23 - $27 hourly
