Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Burlington, Massachusetts

We are looking a Senior Software Engineer who is eager to tackle the challenge of designing, implementing and maintaining an automation framework for Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Testing (CI/CD/CT). Deploying, and monitoring large-scale distributed systems within an agile environment. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in the architecture and design of various components, ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of features. This role includes full ownership of components, from development and testing to managing cross-team dependencies, monitoring, and alerting for deployed systems. The position requires extensive collaboration both internally with other Azure/Microsoft teams.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles for defining robust and maintainable architectures and designs.

  • Collaborate broadly across multiple disciplines from hardware designers to ML developers.

  • Help establish and drive the adoption of good coding standards and patterns.

  • Perform software development in C/C++, Python, and other languages.

  • Identify requirements, scope solutions, estimate work, schedule deliverables.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
