We have an immediate opening for an Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership position which is required to fully execute the manufacturing schedule and implement the complete manufacturing process from the moment a job order is released until the manufacturing operations are complete. The position directs the day-to-day tasks and job assignments of the area of Operations under their responsibility. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the CNC Machining, ID/Assembly, Par Washing, Warehouse and Facilities/Maintenance. The position is part of the Bandy Manufacturing leadership team and is responsible for meeting all production goals and objectives, driving cost savings, leading continuous improvement, meeting customer needs, and improving quality, all while driving a world class safety culture. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing lead times, capacities, and resources for an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Operations**

  • Lead the team with a positive, supportive, and collaborative management style
  • Meet internal schedule in-line with customer demand
  • Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Manage, mentor and train Production Leads
  • Develop and execute a cross-training plan; through cross-training develop the next generation of machinists
  • Cost account manager for all Operations-related budget lines
  • Accountable for all KPIs (including safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, shop floor hours, utilization, cost, and delivery)
  • Assist in managing manufacturing methods and improvements
  • Develop and document stand work, with focus on capturing and documenting tribal knowledge
  • Implement lean initiatives to drive the business towards excellence
  • Develop and execute a 5S improvement plan

Facilities

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance program
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment ensuring all Contractors comply with the company Contractor Policy and Procedure
  • Implement best practice processes to increase efficiency
  • Drive machine up time
  • Manage and review service contracts
  • Prepare and track facilities budget

Qualifications:

B.S. in Business Administration, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field or equivalent experience required or equivalent work-related experience.

Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing background desired.

Minimum of 7 years experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
