Disney has explored new worlds through magical storytelling since its first completely live-action film, Treasure Island in 1950. 20th Century Studios is looking for a talented, seasoned Manager, Physical Production to join the Physical Production team. The role reports directly to the Head of Physical Production, Post Production, and VFX.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Executive in the production of films

  • Perform script analysis/breakdowns for sets, cast, locations, and sequence costs

  • Cultivate relationships and keep current on Head of Department availabilities for upcoming productions

  • Develop initial in-house production schedules

  • Cultivate relationships and keep film commission/scout info current for locations widely used

  • Manage round-robin meetings with Studio Departments and filmmakers with an emphasis on keeping current policies consistent across shows

  • Utilize existing and new relationships with other departments to coordinate the resolution of Production issues quickly and efficiently

  • Oversee and manage relationships between Studio departments and Productions as it relates to Compliance training

  • Guide and influence POC and Supervisors on Films, to ensure compliance with all feature production policies and procedures, checking in with them on a weekly basis

  • Manage the production setup process through location clearance and production office support

  • Partner with new technology team to approve and track platform access for production and Studio members

  • Ensure Below the Line tracking and deal point sheets are being updated timely

  • Draft Head of Department contracts for Production Executive review

  • Work with legal and business affairs to ensure all start paperwork, contracts and templates reflect 20th Century policies and procedures in all shooting locations

  • Identify, interview, and hire interns for the year-round department internship program. Supervise intern responsibilities and provide mentorship for career development

  • Perform ad hoc/special projects for Production Executives

  • Exhibit Disney leadership behaviors when interfacing with production, crew, and external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Film Production or equivalent level of experience.

  • 5+ years working in Film Production

  • Outstanding communication skills, written and oral

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others, both in a supervisory role and as a collaborative team player

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, make preliminary decisions, and change course of action quickly

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); SAP knowledge a plus

  • Computer skills include knowledge of Mac & PC, familiarity with Movie Magic Scheduling, budgeting, and Final Draft programs.

The hiring range for this position in California is $86,000.00 to $112,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
