Peer Support Specialist position - M-F schedule (days)

Benefits included:

14 paid holidays, plus after the first year there is 1 week paid vacation. Medical, Dental and life insurance, plus 401k, vision, and telehealth are available. Starting wage is \$15.00 per hour during training and \$15.50 after training, 40 hours a week guaranteed.

Job Summary / Overview:

Provide recovery support services in various settings to peers within the community to support, educate and provide services to advance recovery and wellness. Quality wellness services to promote recovery and deliver the message that mental health recovery is not a remission or a miracle cure, but the process of living a fulfilling life despite illness and loss.

The peer support specialist will receive CPR and First Aid training and many more levels of programs to assist our Wellness Center members. Additional training will also include wrap around services for our members in our housing program to assist them in achieving a variety of positive preferences and lifestyles, and is a role model to peer members; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills; serves as a peer advocate, supporter, also providing information and peer support for people in outpatient and inpatient settings.

In this position you will perform a wide range of tasks to assist adult Peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. You will understand how the services provided impact recovery and assist a peer to advance in recovery and self-manage their recovery. You will be able to document the value of the services provided to provide evidence of outcomes in recovery. Work will be performed in a wide range of settings.

Model recovery and set appropriate boundaries.

Identify a peers unique strengths and pathway to recovery.

Run groups.
