API Heat Transfer Vendor Compliance Buyer in Buffalo, New York

At API Heat Transfer we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Vendor Compliance Buyer to ensure that our suppliers and vendors meet the necessary standards and compliance requirements. This role will involve managing vendor relationships, conducting audits, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations. As well as buying some commodities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure compliance with company policies, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain vendor compliance programs and processes.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of vendor operations to identify compliance risks and gaps.

  • Work closely with internal teams to address any vendor compliance issues or discrepancies.

  • Review vendor contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vendor compliance activities, audits, and communications.

  • Provide training and support to vendors on compliance-related matters and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to select and onboard compliant vendors.

  • Resolve compliance issues and escalate when necessary to senior management.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring vendors remain compliant with any changes.

  • Responsible for Buying assigned commodities.

  • Source suppliers and negotiate pricing for assigned products.

  • Initiates purchase orders timely and accurately based on demand generated by MRP to support production.

  • Identify varied sources of commodities, negotiate pricing, evaluate bids, and awards contracts and purchase orders.

  • Work with suppliers to expedite, re-schedule or cancel open orders as required by product demand.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in vendor management, procurement, or compliance roles.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Advanced MS Office Skills; Advanced EXCEL user, Pivot table, VLOOKUP, etc.

  • Experience with ERP systems preferably PLEX

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • General knowledge of manufacturing environment/order flow required.

Preferred Skills:

  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing/operations industry.

  • Experience with compliance management software or tools.

  • Familiarity with supply chain and vendor performance metrics.

This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of our vendor relationships and ensuring operational success by minimizing risks and ensuring compliance.

Pay Range: $55,000-$65,000
