Job Description:
Prepares and maintains sterile field and instruments for surgical cases. Counts according to policy in conjunction with an RN. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability by: maintaining continuing education relative to practice; conducting self in a professional manner; adhering to health system policies and procedures and demonstrating competence.

Minimum or Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Cert Surgical Technologist upon hire required. Basic Life Support(BLS) required within 90 days of hire. Completion of Nationally Accredited Surgical Technology Program or completion of a Military Surgical Technology Program required upon hire, New Graduates have 1 year from the date of their graduation to obtain the certification. Maintain national CST certification, granted by the NBSTSA, which requires is for 60 hours of approved CE every four years. Complete 15 hours of continuing education(CE) each year. To be grandfathered as a surgical technologist in New York, a surgical technologist must provide evidence to his or her employer that he or she was employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility for a period of one year during the four years immediately prior to January 1, 2015. Existing Surgical Technologists as of 10/27/2020 will have until 6/21/2021 to obtain BLS.

Salary Range:
$30.30-$38.36 per hour Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
