Buffalo. Stanley Steel Service Corporation. Steel Warehouse Worker. $20 - $22/hour.
Overview We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Warehouse Worker. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the efficient operation of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience in the steel industry. The Warehouse employee is responsible for day to day shipping of customer materials and receiving material from a large number of suppliers. You will be responsible for order fulfillment, receiving product, inventory management, maintaining safety standards, organization and upkeep of the warehouse, and shop supplies. Basic knowledge of math (decimals and fractions) and counting is required in daily activities. The ability to lift up to or over 50# is required. Bending, lifting, climbing and balance is required. The ability to operate heavy equipment which is not limited to: cranes, forklifts, power saws, and other metal processing equipment will be necessary. Experience is appreciated but not required.
Responsibilities
- Pull and organize customer orders.
- Process and package orders in a timely and orderly fashion.
- Operate heavy warehouse equipment.
- Basic math and the ability to use a tape measure is critical.
- Unload and receive material from vendor trucks.
- Work with our driver to assist with daily truck runs.
- Some heavy lifting will be required.
- Ability to communicate with customers and be the face of the company
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency standards.
- Adjust schedule to meet the needs of evolving due dates and times, overtime may be necessary
- Assist with inventory management by conducting regular counts and reporting discrepancies, including year end counts.
- Collaborate with Sales and other team members to meet daily operational goals.
Stanley Steel has been supplying the region with steel products since 1956. We are a small family owned/oriented company that has been expanding our customer base and product listings. We supply metal products to the Western & Central New York regions in addition to shipping out of state. Our customer base includes major regional companies, small machine shops, DIY individuals, and artisans. We are poised to add an additional warehouse position to meet the needs of our customer volume. We will be working closely together within our two warehouses.
