Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in BUFFALO, New York. This role involves a wide range of accounting tasks, from maintaining accurate financial records and processing business transactions to preparing reports and working with management on budget development.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and compile financial information related to business transactions

• Ensure the accurate preparation and maintenance of journal entries of varying complexity

• Execute bank reconciliations for all company entities

• Conduct general ledger account reconciliations and data collection

• Document and maintain process flows within your area of responsibility

• Carry out month-end close processes and present reviews to Accounting Manager and executive management

• Generate month-end reports for the Senior Director of Finance

• Prepare audit workpaper supports and conduct preliminary research on audit queries

• Collaborate with all levels of management and others to develop budgets, including those for grants

• Assist the Accounting Manager in fulfilling the organization's grant reporting responsibilities

• Maintain schedules for grant funding and support Accounting Manager with invoicing for grants or reimbursements

• Generate necessary reports as needed

• Handle insurance certificates, complete applications, and manage renewals

• Attend all required meetings and events

• Uphold and promote the organization’s mission in all job duties. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance required

• Proven experience in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Demonstrated ability in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding of the General Ledger

• Experience in creating Journal Entries

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures

• Experience with QuickBooks software
