Endeavor Health Services Senior Director of Fiscal Operations in Buffalo, New York

Endeavor Health Services is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our dedicated team within our non-profit organization. This newly created role will develop into a leadership position that will oversee our financial operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding financial planning, budgeting, reimbursement, payor contract negotiations, revenue cycle, compliance and business department operations while providing inspirational leadership to our finance department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the non-profit organization, including budgeting and analysis, forecasting, revenue cycle, and financial planning.

  • Develop and implement financial business office policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Lead the finance team in managing day-to-day financial activities, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing.

  • In conjunction with the Controller, prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for the executive team, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. This includes budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and other cost reporting documents.

  • Along with the Controller and Consultant CFO, monitor and manage cash flow, investments, and assets to ensure the organization's financial health and sustainability.

  • Prepare grant and regulatory fiscal reports. Manage budgets, fiscal compliance and project planning for large inter-related programs.

  • Maintains all bank accounts necessary to meet payroll, vendor and other obligations. Regularly manage cash flow.

  • Oversee the medical billing, revenue recognition and accounts receivable process from front end to back-office operations providing oversight for all staff involved in billing and collection process.

  • Conduct financial analysis and present data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.

  • Create and manage relationships while negotiating contracts and rates with 3 party payers (i.e.: BCBS), funders, ACO, federal/state/county level decision makers for the betterment of Endeavor and their clients. Utilize data to understand and share performance and outcome with Executive Team and BOD.

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop their annual budgets and monitor their financial performance throughout the year.

  • Serve as a key liaison to external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process and addressing any audit findings.

  • Work with fundraising and development teams to align financial strategy with fundraising goals, grant management, and the stewardship of donors.

  • Oversee the procurement process and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with financial guidelines.

  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and mitigate financial risks.

  • Strategically drive short-term and long-term business growth by providing hands-on direction and leadership to the contract service process. Use critical thinking to review contracts to ensure accuracy and profitability.

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to department staff.

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing and hiring team members.

  • Advise the CEO and the Board on financial implications of business activities and potential new initiatives or programs.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s degree or higher preferred); CPA or CMA a plus

  • Minimum of 7 years of financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a non-profit organization

  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with experience coordinating legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.

  • In-depth knowledge of non-profit fiscal management, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards

  • Knowledge in federal, state, and local financial regulations, as well as experience with grant management and reporting

  • Proven track record in developing and implementing financial systems and controls.

  • Experience with cost allocation, fund accounting, and fiscal management of government contracts.

  • Demonstrated ability in creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization.

  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Advanced proficiency with accounting software, databases, spreadsheets, and financial management reporting tools

  • Knowledge of electronic health record and billing systems

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing and developing a high-performing finance team.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other senior executives and board members.

Salary starting at $95,000-105,000/year depending on education, credential and experience.
