Description

We are seeking a Property Accountant based in Buffalo, New York. This role is essential in managing the financial aspects of two properties. It involves handling HUD Payments and submissions to ensure timely remittance of payments from the state. This role is paperwork intensive and requires meticulous documentation of all rent checks and money orders. You may need to travel to Fredonia occasionally as needed. Please note that this role does not involve any maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Manage HUD payments and submissions to secure state remittances

• Handle extensive paperwork related to property management

• Document all rent checks and money orders accurately and systematically

• Travel to Fredonia as needed for property management tasks

• Use Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel for financial management and reporting

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Monitor and manage Cash Activity related to the properties

• Ensure compliance with HUD regulations and guidelines in all tasks

• Use your skills in property management to ensure smooth operations and financial health of the properties.

This role offers a temp to perm employment opportunity. It requires proficiency in skills such as Accounting Software Systems, Microsoft Excel, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Activity, and HUD regulations and guidelines.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Property Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Must have knowledge in Cash Activity management

• Familiarity with HUD (Housing and Urban Development) regulations and guidelines would be advantageous

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required

• Must possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Knowledge of property management and real estate industry is a plus

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary

• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
