CTG Project Manager II in Buffalo, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Project Manager II opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

CTG is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful transition of employees from Windows 10 to Windows 11. The Project Manager will manage the project from initiation through close, ensuring that the schedule, scope, and budget are adhered to. This role involves working with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and IT departments to ensure the smooth execution of the project, timely communication, and overall employee satisfaction throughout the upgrade process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade project, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met according to the project schedule.

  • Develop and maintain the Project Plan, including detailed project schedules, requirements, and communication plans.

  • Coordinate with IT teams, business line employees, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and minimize disruptions to daily operations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and stakeholders regarding the upgrade, answering questions and managing expectations.

  • Monitor project performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

  • Manage any issues or risks that arise, ensuring appropriate actions are taken and escalated as needed.

  • Maintain regular communication with employees to inform them of their upgrade timeline, process, and requirements.

  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and management on project progress and any challenges.

  • Document the entire upgrade process for future reference and audits, ensuring alignment with internal controls and compliance requirements.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade project.

  • Manage the budget, resources, and project team to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Coordinate with different departments and teams to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment of project goals.

  • Ensure adherence to risk management processes and regulatory standards within the project.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide guidance to project team members and support staff involved in the upgrade.

  • Promote a collaborative work environment and motivate team members to meet deadlines and project goals.

  • Ensure that the project team adheres to the company’s internal control standards and risk management policies.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years of proven project management experience, with at least 2 years of experience managing technical projects.

  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello).

  • Experience in managing change or system upgrades, particularly in the context of IT infrastructure and employee-facing upgrades.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, employee-facing communications.

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11, and an understanding of endpoint management tools such as Intune and SCCM.

  • Experience in managing large-scale IT transitions or system upgrades.

  • Experience in managing communication and project timelines during significant technological changes or transitions.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
