Delaware North Paralegal in Buffalo, New York

The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Licensing Paralegal to join our legal team at our global headquarters in Buffalo, New York. As a Licensing Paralegal, you will be responsible for anticipating and identifying issues relevant to licensing transactions, ensuring regulatory compliant licensing of all U.S.-based company operations, management compliance issues.

During the training period, the Paralegal will work in office Monday - Friday, after which they will be in office Monday - Wednesday. Parking is provided.

Pay

$25.00 - $30.00 / hour

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer all issued regulatory licenses, preparing all applications and disclosure submissions for added U.S.-based company location operating licenses for gaming, liquor, business, health, and others as required by the federal, state, or local governments, ensuring license renewals are filed

  • Implement compliance with federal, state, and local licensing laws and regulations as described by the company licensing framework and direction from supervisors or consulting attorneys

  • Budget and manage legal spending on outside counsel within the area of responsibility, as well as aiding in-house legal counsel as needed

  • Work effectively under broad supervision from an Attorney or Deputy General Counsel

  • Develop weekly status and exception reports for management showing insight into daily operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification

  • 2 years’ of law firm, corporate legal, or regulatory licensing experience as a paralegal is required

  • Strong knowledge of business transactional legal concepts, organizational issues, and company-specific business organization structure

  • Ability to perform factual and legal research and analysis, identify and predict issues relevant to regulatory licensing transactions and handle directly with business representatives, outside counsel, and regulatory agency personnel

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
