Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (Multiple Positions), Tesla, Inc., Buffalo, NY: Provide equipment engineering support for Tesla’s Power Electronics manufacturing lines. Exercise ownership over key components of the modular power electronics manufacturing lines. Drive continuous improvement activities, while independently diagnosing equipment issues. Work closely with process engineering to develop equipment related strategies to improve yield and develop improved equipment maintenance practices and processes to maximize performance and minimize cost. Own the functionality, stability, uptime of a manufacturing toolset. Work closely with the maintenance team and process engineers to fingerprint tools and ensure repeatability of process as well as push the limitations of toolset to maximize results. Collaborate with design engineers on the interaction of processes with device performance. Perform analysis and structured problem solving of yield and performance issues. Improve process control through regular disciplined monitoring of production processes via SPC. Present data and results to gain support for factory operation, yield and quality improvement projects. Set PM schedules and requirements as well as define key equipment parameters to track through close collaboration with maintenance. Support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of tool set. Draft and maintain proper documentation and procedures for tool operations, PMs, transfer etc. Participate and lead cost reduction programs. Interact with databases and data management systems to drive process and equipment improvements.Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, $105,865 per year.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field, and 1 year of experience in high-volume automated equipment.Employer will accept a combination of degrees and/or work experience as a Bachelor's degree equivalent.Must have academic background, internship, and/or work experience in:- Facilities Management Systems (FMS).- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).- Life Safety Systems (LSS).- Using first principal fundamentals in physics to analyze, design, and build mechanical components and systems.- Six Sigma or RedX.- Programming PLCs or robotics.To Apply, email your resume to apply@tesla.com with job code: BUF282052 in the subject line.Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
