Job Summary: Endoscopy Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. Endoscopy Nurses also assist the physician in the procedure.
Duties: Confirm patient identity utilizing 2 established criteria. Review health history including allergies and reactions. Receive verbal confirmation of procedure and site from patient. Confirm signed informed consent present on patient record. Ensures that operating on correct patient and the correct procedure is being performed. Assists/ monitors physical symptoms. Assists/ monitors behavioral changes. Apply monitoring devices for intraoperative use. Operates monitor equipment according to manufacturers instruction. Sterilizing and organizing equipment used during endoscopy. Assists doctor performing endoscopy.
