Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Dual Rate Slot Supervisor/Slot Shift Manager in Buffalo, New York

JOB SUMMARY:The Slot Supervisor (Primary position) is responsible for supervision of the Slot Attendants on an assigned shift and responsible for ensuring that the Slot Attendants are providing consistent high levels of customer service, is called upon to fill the Slot Shift Manager (Secondary position) when needed. The Slot Shift Manager oversees all slot operations on the casino floor during assigned shift. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Responsible to work in conjunction with the Slot Shift Manager in the supervision of personnel and efficient operation of the facilities during an assigned shift. Monitor employee personnel activities and take appropriate actions in support of efficient operations. 2.Observe activities in the Slot machine department areas watching for irregularities. Ensure Slot Machines are functioning properly and the machines are being played legitimately.3.Assign personnel to areas of the casino, schedules and monitors breaks in order to provide proper coverage and efficient service to Slot customers.4.Assist in monitoring the payouts on the machines, to ensure that proper amounts are being paid to customers.5.Act as signatory on jackpots as outlined by Internal Control Manual.6.Must know and enforce all policies and procedures regarding the security of monies, parts, equipment and required documentation.7.Utilize effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided through all shifts.8.Ensure professional behavior and appearance is in compliance with established standards, rules, and regulations of the Slot Department and the Seneca Gaming Corporation.9.Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.10.Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicate in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.11.Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.12.Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.13.Attend all necessary meetings.14.Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.ADDITIONAL SECONDARY POSITION DUTIES:1.Responsible for observing and analyzing the integrity of play and tracking guests and employee activity. Assume responsibility and accountability for the overall function and performance of assigned shift.2.Supervise shift of Slot Supervisors and Slot Attendants.3.Manage the operation of the Slot department during assigned shift. 4.Assist in the formulation, development and implementation of goals and objectives for the department. 5.Train all new employees to the assigned shift to ensure that these employees receive the proper knowledge to perform their duties at an acceptable level.6.Implement departmental and company procedures, including all policies and procedures regarding the security of monies, parts, equipment and required documentation.7.Ensure proper staffing levels in order to provide adequate floor coverage and a high level of customer and machine service with minimum labor hours.8.Delegate assignments to ensure that all functions of the shift are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. Track assigned tasks to ensure their proper completion. 9.Ensure all slot operations staff are familiar with, and accurately completing all necessary shift paperwork in order to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of all departmental records and reports. Investigate any discrepancies found. 10.Perform payroll duties including submitting timecards/sheets in a timely manner, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date attendance records and personnel files for each of the employees on an assigned shift.11.Maintain a working knowledge of all Seneca Gaming Corporation facilities including, but not limited to, special promotions and events in order to provide pertinent information to employees as well as customers. 12.Evaluate shift employees to ensure the maintenance of an acceptable performance level. 13.Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching and discipline, terminations and other personnel related issues. 14.Communicate regularly with employees and keep them informed of all casino activities and events.15.Settle customer disputes that cannot be readily resolved by subordinates.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience:1.Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.2.High School Diploma or equivalent is required.3.Bachelor’s Degree or two (2) years of casino experience and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.4.Minimum two (2) years gaming/casino experience (can be concurrent with leadership experience)5.Game performance experience desirable6.Knowledge of casino rules, regulations and procedures.7.Basic computer skills requiredLanguage Skills and Reasoning Ability:1.Must possess excellent communication skills. 2.Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.3.Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.4.Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
