ASR Group/Domino Sugar Distribution Planner in Buffalo, New York

OVERVIEW
The Distribution Planner will be the main support for the Distribution Coordinator. This role manages inbound and outbound shipment schedules for prepaid shipments, in both the refinery and the local 3PL. The Distribution Planner is responsible for maintaining carrier performance and supporting the Refinery Distribution Team in “delighting the customer” with various activities, that include communicating any changes to the schedule and performing tracking and tracing of shipments, as needed.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for scheduling carriers for pickups of all prepaid (seller’s truck) orders.
Performs tracking and tracing for several purposes, including customers that are concerned about their operations shutting down. Must monitor open orders at both the refinery and local 3PL to insure all orders have shipped on time.
Assists co-packers in securing carriers for outbound shipments.
Communicate with carriers regarding any changes that are made to appointment for pickup or delivery, this also includes communicating with the guard house.
Main point of contact for distribution related issues for CSRs, carriers, other refineries and NRO’s.
Works closely with the Central Planning team regarding any capacity concerns at the refinery or 3PL.
Responsible for communications with the local 3PL with regards to their appointments for both customer shipments and STO receipts, while also addressing any carrier issues that are site specific.
Direct customer interaction to confirm orders in advance.
Identify and propose opportunities for operational improvements.
Supports the DFI Supply Chain Organization in the achievement of business performance metrics, financial objectives and operational efficiency goals.
WORK EXPERIENCES
Minimum of two years of logistics, supply chain, or related work experience or relevant 4 year degree
Degree preferred

The expected pay range for this position is $48,000-$80,000 and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
